The road is one of the worst in the state of Wisconsin and they don't preserve the wildlife anymore. The geese are all gone from the old Refuge and there's not much left for deer.
Did a learn to hunt pheasant there today, all the kids had fun and will be eating some pheasant real soon.
Wonderful place to get out and relax with your family or whomever.
Nice place to visit.
An interesting place to explore with the Wisconsin River on one side of the levee and lots prairie and wet land restoration on the other. No real trails other than the deer trails. Some off road parking. Plenty of waterfowl in the wetland restoration area. Levee road is a classified rustic road... it's going to be a little rough in spots.. so slow down and enjoy the scenery. Only reason I can't award a 5 star... noise level from the interstate.
