Cute dining experience. Prices are very good for the good quality of food served. Cocktails could use a little improvement, unaware of what a "Margarita on the Rocks" was.
Tonight I am very sad. I recently moved to Portage for work. My boyfriend came to visit me and I got dressed up and ready to eat at a nice place. All I wanted was a Ribye for dinner. We arrived at 7:00pm and sat at the bar and ordered drinks from a man with his shirt unbuttoned. That was fine with me and I’m open to different styles until at 8:00 the waitress finally came to the bar to take orders because the bartender refused to give much service at all. To be honest we would have spent over $100.00 on two people and settled at least at ordering some potato skins if they were clogged up. By 8:00 the waitress took food orders of 4 guests beside us who had menus in front of them like us and went away to get their apps and salads. I turned to my boyfriend at that point and told him that I would not spend $100+ dollars at a place that couldnt give us an ounce of food attention for an hour. I am now very sad because I’m still dressed up and hungry for something nice and I’m sitting at a corner bar ordering wings and writing this review. Out of principle, I will never go back
Had the grlled shrimp with fries and a salad and potato skins for appetizer. Food was great, service was excellent and they were great about modifications I needed for food sensitivities.
Husband's steak was a little over cooked, but all in all, a very pleasant experience. Will definitely return! Oh, yes...The older gentleman who was the host, needs to work on his "people skills". He just stared at us when we came in, not any type of greeting or smile. I had to initiate the conversation and still received no type of "happy you chose this restaurant" feeling. Too bad, because this being our 1st visit to this restaurant, our "lack of" greeting was almost enough to want me to turn around and leave, but all I all, glad we didn't.
Great atmosphere! The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. The prime rib with baked potato was excellent but could have been just a little bit warmer! I will definitely go back again!
